How to Create a MetaMask

MetaMask is a cryptocurrency wallet compatible with the Ethereum blockchain. Not only can it send, receive, and manage cryptocurrencies, it can also be used to store NFTs.

You can create a MetaMask from either your PC or smartphone.

[How to Create a MetaMask (PC)]

Step 1: Install MetaMask for PC

MetaMask can be used on various PC browsers. (MetaMask currently supports Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge, and Opera browsers. This guide uses Chrome as an example.)

Download MetaMask


Click Add to Chrome.


Click Add Extension.

Step 2: Create a New Wallet

Once installation is complete, a new tab will open automatically.
Agree to the MetaMask Terms of Use and click Create a New Wallet.


A message will appear saying "Help us improve MetaMask." Read the message and click I Agree or No thanks.

You can create a wallet regardless of which option you choose, so choose the option that best suits you. Here, select "Agree" and proceed.

Step 3: Create a Password

Decide on a password. Passwords should be alphanumeric and contain at least eight characters. After setting the password, read the notes, check the box, and click "Create New Wallet."

Step 4: Save your secret recovery phrase

An explanation about secret recovery phrases will be displayed. Read the video and explanation carefully and click Secure your wallet (recommended).


Click Confirm secret recovery phrase and write down and save the displayed phrase in a secure location.

※If a third party learns this phrase, anyone can access your wallet, so be sure to keep it secret. ※Writing it down by hand is safer as there is a risk of it being leaked if hacked if it is stored on your computer. *If you forget your secret recovery phrase, you will not be able to log in to your account and will not be able to retrieve your valuable assets. Therefore, for risk management purposes, we recommend saving it in multiple locations.

Step 5: Confirm your secret recovery phrase

Enter the secret recovery phrase you created earlier in the blank space and click Confirm.


Click OK. Your MetaMask is now created.

Step 6: MetaMask for PC created

When you reach the screen above, creation is complete.


You can view MetaMask at any time from the Extensions in the upper right corner of the Chrome window.

Step 1: Install the MetaMask mobile app

Tap Get in the app, and once installation is complete, tap Open.

Step 2: Create a new wallet

Once the app opens, tap Start.

*This section explains how to create a MetaMask for the first time on your smartphone. If you created it on your PC and want to manage and use it on your smartphone, tap "Import using secret recovery phrase" and follow the on-screen instructions to import.


A message stating "MetaMask..." will appear. Scroll down to read the contents. After confirming the contents, the button will become available, so tap "I Agree." You can also tap "No, thanks" to proceed, so either option is fine.


Scroll down to review the Terms of Use. After reviewing, check "I agree to the Terms of Use" and tap the "Agree" button.

Step 3: Create a Password

Choose a password. Your password should be at least eight alphanumeric characters long. Check the checkbox and tap "Create Password."

Step 4: Save your secret recovery phrase

After creating your password, a video explaining your secret recovery phrase will play. After confirming, tap Start.


A written explanation of your secret recovery phrase will be displayed. Read the explanation and tap Start.
